Just thought we would add a video from a recent trip up the mid north coast of NSW. Just off the main drag north, the Pacific Highway about fifty odd kilometres north of Kempsey you will find the beautiful Yarriabini National Park. Once you have taken in the views awesome views of the coastline from the lookout atop Mount Yarrahapinni make sure you have time to do the Way Way Forest Drive. This is an absolutely stunning drive through lush rainforest and with a few shallow causeway crossings to negotiate this is an easy scenic drive. Usually you can take this dirt road all the way from the turnoff to Mount Yarrahapinni to Scotts Head Road, however on our last visit here due to the area receiving large amounts of rainfall we were not able to traverse the entire length. The Pines Picnic Area about halfway along hidden deep within the rainforest is a great place for a picnic lunch and if you are lucky enough you may even be serenaded by the haunting cries of the many Catbirds that inhabit this area. Yarriabini National Park along with more than twenty seven other national parks features in our “National Parks of the Upper North Coast New South Wales”, available as an ebook from our website.
