Welcome to this weeks edition of Waterfall Wednesday and Hump Day Huts. Today we thought we would take our inspiration from the beautiful and stunning Pilbara Region of Western Australia, our favourite region in the west.
A gem of this unique area is what has to be our all time favourite destination in the country, Karijini National Park and one of the most easily accessible, most visited and almost certainly most photographed is Fortescue Falls. Located in Dales Gorge this waterfall is the only permanent one in the national park. It is a stunning spot to visit and simply must be on your itinerary when out this way.

Our hut for today also comes from the Pilbara Region in Western Australia, okay maybe not quite a hut but an historic homestead. Just up the road from Karijini the much less visited Millstream – Chichester National Park can be found. This over 200,000 hectare park is one of contrasts and the historic Millstream Homestead is more than worth a visit. Dating from 1920 the building had an interesting past even operating as a tavern at one stage. It is now an information centre and museum, the original kitchen building out the back of the homestead is a real treat.

We hope this brief instalment entices you to start your travel planning to one of the wonderful and amazing places on offer around the country.
Happy and safe travel planning
